Alarm if infected files are found

This add-on creates a CloudWatch Alarm to notify you via email if infected files are found in the past N seconds.

Install Add-On

  1. Set the Stack name to s3-virusscan-alarm.
  2. Set the S3VirusScanStackName to the stack name of the VirusScan for Amazon S3 (if you followed our docs, the name is s3-virusscan).
  3. Set the Email to your email address.
  4. Click on the Create stack button to save.
  5. You will receive an email (AWS Notification - Subscription Confirmation) with a confirmation link that you have to visit.

Scan bucket at regular intervals

This add-on scans all files in a bucket at regular intervals.

Install Add-On

  1. Set the Stack name to s3-virusscan-scheduled-bucket-scan.
  2. Set the S3VirusScanStackName to the stack name of the VirusScan for Amazon S3 (if you followed our docs, the name is s3-virusscan).
  3. Set the ScheduleExpression to a valid expression (e.g., rate(1 day), rate(7 days), rate(1 hour)).
  4. Click on the Create stack button to save.

Quarantine infected files

This add-on moves infected files into a quarantine bucket for further investigation.

The DeleteInfectedFiles parameter of the VirusScan for Amazon S3 stack must be set to false. Otherwise, files are deleted before they are moved into the quarantine bucket!

Install Add-On

  1. Set the Stack name to s3-virusscan-quarantine.
  2. Set the S3VirusScanStackName to the stack name of the VirusScan for Amazon S3 (if you followed our docs, the name is s3-virusscan).
  3. Set the QuarantineBucketName to an existing S3 bucket where quarantined files are stored.
  4. Click on the Create stack button to save.

Move clean files

This add-on moves clean files into another bucket. With this add-on, you can ensure that files are scanned before users can download them.

Move clean files

The ReportCleanFiles parameter of the VirusScan for Amazon S3 stack must be set to true.

Install Add-On

  1. Set the Stack name to s3-virusscan-move-clean.
  2. Set the S3VirusScanStackName to the stack name of the VirusScan for Amazon S3 (if you followed our docs, the name is s3-virusscan).
  3. Set the TargetBucketName to an existing S3 bucket where clean files are stored.
  4. Click on the Create stack button to save.
